Engineering plays a vital part in nearly
every sector of the economy – not just manufacturing, but in all
kinds of other areas such as transport, power and water generation,
construction, broadcasting, cinema, the armed services and
healthcare to name a few. All these activities are increasingly
operating globally. Moreover, engineering is a complex activity
with many different strands that often take place in a number of
different locations. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing,
the chances are that you are going to work across cultural
boundaries.
