New career opportunities are now available for young
multi-lingual British graduates.
The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) has published an
open competition for translators into English. It is open to people
with a university degree and the requisite language skills to
translate in writing from at least 2 official EU* languages into
English, which must be of native-speaker standard.
The deadline for applications is 12 August 2010, 11.00 BST.
Candidates are subject to pre-selection computer-based tests,
languages tests and one-day assessment tests in Brussels.
* The 23 official languages are: Bulgarian, Czech, Danish,
Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek,
Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish,
Portuguese, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish.
For the EU careers competitions, at least one of the foreign
languages must be French or German.
