Engineering
With international trade and foreign investment of vital importance to the engineering industry, it is no surprise that languages play such a significant role. Cooperation across borders also means that language skills alone are not sufficient; intercultural competence is also important if UK engineers are to collaborate on equal terms with their international partners. SEMTA recognises this and encourages the development of language and intercultural skills for engineers.
