Industry sectors

Using your languages at work doesn’t mean being just a teacher, translator or interpreter. It can mean working in one of the industries highlighted below. Languages are used in very different ways, but they are no substitute for specific qualifications or training; for example to be a qualified accountant, or to have several years’ marketing experience. However, it may be virtually impossible to perform well without an effective working knowledge of the language(s) needed in the job.
