Travel and tourism

The ease of modern travel means that there is more contact than ever with tourists coming to this country, and for those in the industry more contact with customers and suppliers abroad. Geographically it is likely that there are more working opportunities close to airports and other travel hubs such as ports. While there is much emphasis on language skills in the frontline for cabin crew and customer support staff for example at coach stations, colleagues working on production of literature and website content will equally benefit from a knowledge of foreign languages and culture. People 1st strongly encourages languages as a key skill to get on in many jobs in this sector.
