Why is Spanish important for your job?

I am currently working on a major Financial Systems Implementation project. This involves localizing an original Spanish banking Software programme for the UK and Ireland market. I use Spanish most days in my job to liaise with my Accenture colleagues in Madrid . Conversations are mainly based on Software design and business decisions.

A deep knowledge of Spanish has helped me greatly to resolve issues and generate efficiencies in the project. I am able to build relationships more quickly with my Spanish colleagues than other team members who do not speak the language. I have been in this role now for almost four years and believe that Spanish is one of the most valuable skills that I use in my job.

Do you speak any other language?

Conversational French

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Being part of a trans-European team and getting to know new people from different backgrounds and cultures all of the time.

What experience and other job skills are needed?

Computer Programming Skills

Financial and Banking Skills

Relationship Management Skills

Personal Skills

I also have banking skills that I gained as part of the Socrates programme in the third year of my degree. During this time I spent a year working for a corporate bank in Madrid.
