Background

Modern Language Degree in Spanish & French, followed by two years working in marketing for an exhibition company, two years in Executive Selection, three years running an Insurance Office in Spain, before moving to my current role.

 

What are your main responsibilities at work?

Coordination of company public relations (all types of media) with external national and international agencies. Translation of marketing materials, assistant to the team of Account Executives, production of marketing supports.

 

Why are languages important in your work?

Our working environment in the office is completely bilingual (probably 70% of all our clients are English speaking) and all day-to-day contact is in Spanish, plus all our marketing material is produced in two or more languages, so languages are a vital part of my work

 

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The variety - never knowing what I will be doing next week and having to react quickly to both client and company needs.

 

Any tips?

Learn a second or even a third foreign language. It will make you a much more ‘attractive’ proposal to any employer.
