Diplomas are the new qualifications for 14
to19 year olds which are now being introduced at three levels.
Sitting alongside GCSEs and A levels, they provide an opportunity
to gain general knowledge and skills in an applied context.
Employers have been actively involved in the
development of the new qualifications, so you will gain not only
knowledge of a particular sector or subject (known as lines of
learning), but also vital skills such as literacy, numeracy and IT
skills, along with the ability to think, interact and communicate
at a high level.
There's a wealth of information about the
Diploma on the
CILT website. You could also have a look at our fantastic
selection of Languages Work postcards
that refer to the employment sectors covered by the Diploma - and
offer warnings about how you can get ahead in a whole range of
sectors by learning a language.
